Having fallen in love with the rocky slopes of schist and granite arenas, the view of the Canigou and the local wine culture, Cyrille and Xavier, oenophile brothers, decided to return to their origins by taking over from Joep Grael, in 2016, this superb estate of 13 hectares of vines, in the middle of 43 hectares of preserved moors.
An exceptional terroir
It was the potential and the richness of the terroir of this site that seduced the Gaubert brothers, as they sought a place in which to bring their shared passion for wine to life. The vines flourish all around this plateau, overflown by Pyrenean eagles, illuminated by mimosas at the end of winter and then sunny and lulled by cicadas in the summer.
If each stage of the elaboration of our wines is carefully thought out, the maturation is the one to which the estate pays the greatest attention. Although the maturation in concrete ovoid vats is still under development, the estate already has about fifty different barrels, with an exceptional diversity and a multitude of profiles, due to the variety of soils, altitude and grape varieties of the estate. During the blending process, each of them is tasted carefully, focusing on each of their characteristics, in search of the perfect balance between freshness and power.
"Through our wines, we seek to reflect the diversity and richness of our vineyard. Beyond the expression of the terroir, we want to transcribe the identity and specificities of each of our parcels".
Organic, but not only...
The estate has been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2016. But our commitment goes beyond this (simple) certification label. Our commitment is personal. It is a simple form of sincere respect for the nature that inspires us every day. We must be the guarantors of an endemic ecosystem where animals, insects and plants cooperate and cohabit.
